Provincial Censor Markings
Horizontal Rectangular Type
When the censorship of mails commenced on March 4,1942, various provincial capitals were designated as censorship offices and were manned by the Japanese Military Police. These offices had distinctive types of markings. Whenever the censorship officer was unavailable the mail was forwarded to Manila for censoring.

1943 JANUARY 30: LUCENA, TAYABAS to MANILA
Official "KP" hand stamp in black. Triple rated letter 15 centavos (5 centavos per 20 grams). 

Lucena post office re-opened, June 3,1942.
Distinctive large boxed type of San Pablo City.  San Pablo censor was responsible
for censoring the mails from the Provinces of Laguna,  Batangas and Tayabas


1943 JANUARY 13: MANILA to MALOLOS, BULACAN
 Official "KP" hand stamp in purple. Single letter rate 5 centavos.

Manila post office re-opened, March 4 ,1942. Common Manila censor hand stamp.

Legaspi post office re-opened, October 7,1942. Scarce provincial FDC.

Legaspi censor was assigned the responsibility of censoring mail for the Provinces
of Albay, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Masbate and Sorsogon.
