With the war with Japan coming to an end, mail services began to resume within the Philippines.

Mass destruction had taken place throughout the provinces, and many post offices and their supplies had been destroyed. Post masters had to work with whatever means that was necessary to provide mail services, mainly lack of stamps and cancelling devices.
