51c was
the single rate via Marseilles when calculated on a 1/4oz basis. The only
example of this rate which was in existence for just 19 months. The cover
left New York January 11 on the Inman Liner “ETNA".
The letter
refers to commodity speculation, with a not quite so enthusiastic view
