The only
other example of the 33c single rate. The cover left New York June 19 on
the Cunarder ‘AUSTRALASIAN”.
The letter
refers to the Civil War's commencement, new tariffs, wonderful analysis
of the North's and South's strengths and weaknesses, the Blockade, British
shippers taking business from America. Two pages on the war with note of
confidence.
