JUNE 3, 1870: 30c blue & carmine (#121, #137), 1870-71 6c carmine, tied by two strikes of segmented cork cancels on folded letter bearing red BOSTON JUN 3 PAID, Storer forwarder, "2", "32" (packet credit), LONDON PAID 16 JU 70 and "Via Marseilles" on front, Hong Kong transit and small MANILA 3 AUG 70 receiver on reverse.

The other example of the short-lived 36c single rate via Marseilles.The letter departed New York June 4 on the North German Liner "UNION".

The letter is lightly inked and very' hard to read.
