In mid-1929, as the "H / MANILA / P.I." overprints were running out, Heacock's placed a new order for stamps overprinted with "HEACOCK'S / MANILA". These overprints were also used by the C.L. Alcan Company. which merged with Heacock's in 1931. Two printings were made for this type of overprint. FIRST PRINTING: Lower bar either 17.9 mm or 18.2 mm in length with both types appearing on one sheet. |
