Early in
1935 some of the values of the first printing began to run out. To cover
the shortfall, seven values were handstamped with "HEACOCK'S / MANILA"
in
dark violet and in a style similar to the overprints. These handstamps
were used only for a short period while awaiting the arrival of the
second printing ordered from the Bureau of Posts.
