The Philippines became independent on the 14th. The congratulatory (festival was performed
on a grand scale also in this town, I looked at the moon on the 15th and the hometown
was remembered nostalgically. It is full of the feeling of homesickness."

Letter written in the second half of October 1943 and received in Japan on December 15,1943.
