Propaganda leaflet handed out or dropped
in Luzon by the Japanese Imperial Army
as they advanced towards Manila.

Manuscript notation on reverse:

"This leaflet was given to the Dizon family
on Jan 4 1942 by the advance troops of the
'Takashashi Butai' (Lt. Col. Katsumo Takahashi)
at the Porac (Pampanga) checkpoint."


1)   Those that have plans to commit or will 
      commit harm to the officers  and soldier's 
      of the Japanese Imperial Army or to any 
      Japanese citizen will be shot to his death.
2)   If the person or persons will not be captured 
      we will apprehend as our prisoners ten
      individuals who are known residents of 
      the area where the offense was committed.
3)   We direct the leaders of your communities 
      to inform your people of this warning at 
      the soonest time possible in order to 
      prevent the commission of crimes in your 
      areas of responsibility.
4)   The Filipinos should clearly understand our
      honest  intentions and they should extend 
      their assistance to us in order to preserve 
      the peace and order throughout  the 
      Philippines.
