Lt. Gen. Tomoyuki Yamashita,  former Japanese Commander in the Philippines was tried before a U.S. Military Commission for crimes committed against  the Filipino people.

Another surprised prosecution witness at the trial of Gen. Yamashita in Manila, was Joaquin S. Galang, an accused collaborator, shown here pointing to Yamashita during his testimony. He declared that he was present in a meeting between Gen. Artemio Ricarte, notorious Filipino collaborator, and Yamashita in which the Jap general was quoted as saying: “All Filipinos are guerrillas”
and therefore should be treated as such.”
