in a resolution dated July 1, 1898.

Newspaper and telegraph issues of 1863 - 1888  surcharged 
in black, red or violet with the inscription  "FILIPINAS" 
and the face value trimmed off in some of the issues.

Left Stamp: On 1863 1 Real Isabella II

Type 2
In 3 Lines, in Black or Red "CORREOS / 98 / _ CENT."
Center & Right Stamps: Alfonso XII issues with "FILIPINAS" 
trimmed off. With "98" in vertical position on 1880 - 1883
LA UNION to MANILA

Endorsed "CORREO ORDINARIO" 
with 6c of Type 2 Provisional for triple local rate, 
tied with blue Spanish type 
"CORREOS UNION / 12 JUL 98" date stamp. 

Received MANILA on front and reverse with black "CORREOS / MANILA / 27 JUL 98" cds. 
Received on reverse in manuscript, by addressee. Catalino Fernandez.

With "98" in horizontal position
on 1896 Alfonso XIII postal and newspaper stamp issues.

"FILIPINAS" trimmed off  on 1882 Alfonso XII issues.

Type 4, in 2 Lines, in Black
