Dear Friends:

Ever since I started this web site I have longed for the inclusion of a decent 1898 - 1906 USPI postal history collection.  The Fritz-Walter Lange exhibit THE U.S. MILITARY POSTS IN THE PHILIPPINES, 1898 - 1903, which I prepared in the early 1990s would have been a major asset to the site. This collection earned for Fritz several international awards, among them gold medals in CAPEX '96, Orlando '96 StampShow and Istanbul '96 World Exhibit. Sadly,  the only colored photocopy that I made cannot be located.

A couple of weeks back, Ed Nocom asked me if I would be interested in helping him prepare a collection which he has been painstakingly putting together for the past ten years. This USPI postal history  collection is indeed manna from heaven. It fulfilled my wish and I will say without any hesitation that this collection deserve your second and even a third look.

I thank Ed for his generosity for allowing me to share it with you. Included in this presentation are black and white images of very scarce to rare items from the Lange collection. The intent here is not to emphasize on what Ed does not have but rather make this a collection a visual reference to those who collect this particular period.  They inclusion is  necessary in order to illustrate deeply what USPI postal history is all about. The materials, in black and white, impart valuable information. This, after all, is the main reason on why this collection is presented to you.

Close to ten years has passed since I indulged myself in a vast wealth of materials. I believe some of the information I obtained then is no longer valid today. In the event that there is a need for you to correct data contained herein, please do not hesitate to inform me immediately.

Lastly, for those who happen to obtained covers from the Lange collection (Philstamps June 1 1997 auction), I will appreciate it very much if you can provide me with colored of the covers.

Thank you very much.
