Garrett reports that a certain Sergeant Major Sumitani Yoshiaki of the Iloilo Kempei
Buntai was tired, sentenced to death and hanged as a war criminal by the War Crimes Commission after the Liberation for atrocities committed to the Filipinos during the quelling of guerrilla activities by the Japanese Imperial Army Forces between late 1942 to early 1943.
