1931 Customs Stamp on Landing Certificate

Seller's Description: SCARCE Bureau of Customs Landing Certificate of Residence, issued to a certain Chinese boy from Chinkiang, China, named Chua Seng.  The document entitles the boy to stay legally in the Philippines.

Comments: First, the stamp affixed on the document is #W-873A  with blue serial number. Series A issued in 1917, four printings at 25,000 per printing and Series B issued in January 1925, one printing at 50,000 pieces.

The 1917 Customs Fees schedule for each Certificate of Residence is 10.00 pesos. In the unp[ublished Warren studies on Philippine Revenues there is no mention if the fee for a child was reduced to 5 pesos.
