1931 Shanghai to Manila
With Numerous Auxilliary Markings
1931 DECEMBER 19:
SHANGHAI to MANILA
MANILA POST OFFICE / CARRIER-IN- CHARGE NO. / JAN 4 1932 cds to denote a failed attempt to deliver the letter. Then marked with boxed-in REASON FOR NON-DELIVERY violet notice plus JAN 5 and JAN 6 1932 single date line in violet on front and back. Cover then placed in the list of unclaimed mail per ADVERTISED MAIL / MANILA, P.I. / JAN 25 1932 violet cds.

Letter marked UNCLAIMED and sent to Dead Letter Office, received with MANILA / P.I. / FEB 8 1932 steel duplex in black.
Then processed per DEAD LETTER OFFICE / BUREAU OF POSTS / FEB 10 1932 cds. The boxed BUREAU OF POSTS / DEAD LETTER OFFICE / FEB 27 1932 / MANILA, P.I. marking in violet could mean either the letter being process for disposal or
to be returned per boxed-in REBUTS notice.

I have no explanation on why the boxed REBUTS notice is under the China stamp tied with the SHANGHAI dispatch cds.
