The bilateral relations
of the Philippines with the People's Republic of China is one of the most
important relationships the Philippines has with any country in the twenty-
first century.
The relationship is founded
on a long-standing friendship between neighbors and shaped by centuries
of interaction between the Filipino and Chinese peoples.
As the Philippines and China
mark this year the 30th anniversary of their diplomatic ties that were
formally established on 9 June 1975, the relationship grows in strength
and scope, evolving on the basis of mutual respect, common interest and
a shared desire for broader cooperation for mutual benefit.
The State Visit of H.E. President
Hu Jintao to the Philippines on 26 - 28 April 2005 highlights the accomplishments
of the bilateral relationship and its new defining dimensions.
The visit focuses on the
new golden age of partnership that has emerged and is being reinforced
for the Philippines and China, with new possibilities for growth and convergence
in the future. |
