S216 Japan
WWII From the Philippines dispatch TO 5134th corps of Letter Sheets To
Yamaguchi Prefecture. Part of the message reads "Presently a battle
is started. We announce you a situation. You separate from this letter
for the time being. It is well written to everyone as...a picture is Swatow
scenery."
Censored by
a army second lieutenant with some lines deleted in black. There is a seal
of FURUTA MASAYUKI.
Lettersheets
from the Philippines is "very uncommon" which were brought in from South
China. I personally have handled only four in the past and their condition
was not as good as the above lot. Three of the letter- sheets were military
related mail all addressed to Japan. The fourth, which went to Gene Garrett,
was addressed to Taiwan and relating to the remittance of money. This was
one stamped with the Foreign censor mark, Garrett Type IE1. |
