2c AGUINALDO CORREOS IMPERF BETWEEN
USED AS REVENUE ON PIECE
Described as: PHILIPPINES: AGUINALDO 2C CORREOS FILIPINAS VERTICAL PAIR IMPERFORATE BETWEEN TIED ON PIECE, VERY, VERY RARE! I need not say more on how rare an imperforate revolutionary aguinaldo stamp is much more when it is tied on piece.  Truly, this is one of the gem of Philippine philately. The value of this item is not ascertainable as it is very seldom when an item like this is put on auction.  So you bidders decide the price.  This item should be auctioned off in big  stamp auction houses but i prefer it to put it here on Ebay (snip) (eBay US$ 165.00)

I am adding this item to this section primarily because on how the lot is described or rather falsely described. For those not familiar with Philippine Revolutionary issues the description "VERY RARE" is a clear case of misrepresentation on the part of the seller.

First and foremost: IT IS SCARCE BUT DEFINITELY NOT RARE. The adove mint and used examples should prove my point. In my lifetime I must have handled more than fifty documents with #Y2 imperfs not just in pairs but in strips of up to 10 and some with the first or last stamp bisected for the 1 cent + 24c (2c x 12 pcs)  for the  basic 25c revenue fee charged on such documents.

Second: One very important detail was left out: THE STAMP USED AS REVENUE and there is a big difference between used postally and revenue usage.
