SELLO POSTAL
/ PROVISIONAL / BOHOL
On piece with
the oval seal - postal cancel of
CANTON DE
BOHOL / PUEBLO DE MARIBOJOC.
This is
the 21st specimen that I have recorded of the issue.
Told Tommy
that I'll make the input on this one:
Offered at
ebay with a starting bid of US$ 20,000.00. Yes, it is genuine but is it
worth the asking price? I don't think anyone will be brave enough to fork
out 20 big ones. At any rate, here are the bare facts:
The above strip
of three on piece, ex Lange, sold by Soler y Llach for $3,000.00. This
is the largest multiple recorded of the issue and in fantastic condition
as kept out of the Philippine humid climate. Same stamp, different cancel.
Simple math: strip of 3 at 3 grand so a single should be in the 1G price
range. The only known mint example, ex Lange and Chiong changed hands for
US$1,000.00 and two used examples at @ US$500.00.
The famous
Bohol cover, addressed to Cebu with military station entry and Postage
Due notice (ex Chiong and Lange) was sold by Zurich Asia Auctions about
three years ago for a little over US$11,000 inclusive of the buyer's fee.
I'll dream
tonight that I have 20 big ones and keep it in the bank....aql
